Will
There are a couple of memories from long ago that come back:
Going to visit you all in Lewisham was always fun and Ellie was often getting into trouble. I remember Andy telling me me about the naughty things she'd done recently, like tipping grated carrots into a jar of olive oil and calling it "goldfish." I remember hearing something smash upstairs one day, and Andy saying "What's Ellie doing?". I remember the gentle black dog called Tara that lived in your house and Ellie wearing her like a scarf, singing "Ta ra ra boom dee ay." She really loved that dog and I remember feeling jealous because I didn't get on as well with our dog at home. There was another time when Andy was deciding which school to send you to and she sang "She's not going to Thomas Tallis, she's going to go to Crystal Palace!"
Once when you came to visit Andy was drawing a picture of some dinosaurs in some imaginary prehistoric undergrowth and she asked what the plants should be called. I think it was Ellie who called them Boob Trees! Andy carried on drawing the plants, singing "Tiptoe through the Boob Trees." It may have been on the same visit that we were coming back from Pembrey country park in Jane's car and for some reason the grown-ups were talking about circumcision. I was definitely not a grown-up at the time and didn't want to listen to what they were saying but Ellie was all ears. She asked "Did John have it?" and the grown-ups laughed.
On one of your trips to Ferryside we all had a go at a wood-burning iron and we all wrote our names into a cheeseboard. Ellie's name has some interesting looking characters after it - can't remember what they meant.
